The Tea Association of the USA, Inc.

The Road to Discovery

Your existing tea program probably consists of the customary offerings - an English Breakfast, an Earl Grey, perhaps a Chamomile, a few herbal teas thrown in, and that's about it. The "Beverages" section of your menu likely says "Tea," and as for your staff, tea isn't something they suggestively sell. If that's a close description of your store, it is definitely time to add a bit of excitement into your tea merchandising. But where should you start?

Tea is a beverage that has been enjoyed by people throughout the ages. Over the years, it has been associated with ceremony, civility, and defiance as well as health, convenience, and relaxation. The world of tea is waiting to be discovered by you, your staff, and your customers.

You can start down the road to success by identifying the lifestyle tendencies of your existing customer base. Are they in pursuit of a simpler lifestyle; seeking quiet, reflective time for themselves; or are they nontraditional in nature, inquisitive about the unknown?
